Antioch recently sponsored a very successful movie night. About 30 of us gathered on our parking lot to view the movie Woodlawn. It was a great time, with popcorn, soda and a very entertaining and challenging movie. For those who have never heard of Woodlawn, it is set in the mid 1970's in Birmingham, Alabama. The plot follows a high school football team and its journey from turmoil and upheaval to a climactic game  before 42,000 people. Along the journey the team, their coach, and the "not so nice" coach of their biggest rival, all come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. Addressed during the course of the movie are such topics as busing, real racial strife and turmoil, the federal government's assault on religious liberty, and most importantly, what acceptance of saving faith in Jesus Christ will make in an individual, a leader, and an entire community.

For all of us it was a meaningful, as well as, fun evening. However, for one person it was much more. One of the men in attendance approached the pastor after the movie and said, "I think its time." The pastor asked, "time for what?" The answer was glorious! Time that I let the Lord control my life. He and the pastor talked and he prayed and asked Jesus to forgive his sin and become his Savior. It was indeed a great evening at Antioch.
